After taping both of the sides of the bed the next step is measuring the plastic to be used on the sides of the vehicle. Remember to leave the top half of the tape free. This is the adhesive edge that you will attach the plastic to   .

Beginning with the 12 ft. X 400 ft. roll of plastic measure off and cut 3 1/2 feet of the high density plastic. Taller trucks may require more than the 3 1/2 feet.

Also insure that the length of the pieces of plastic are long enough to reach from 12 inches past the rear end of the bed to well past the front end of the bed reaching the middle of the doors.

You will see in the graphic to the right the 12 inches of plastic held beyond the end of the side of the bed. The plastic is attached to the half of the tape strip left standing up unattached. The excess 12 inches will be used to cover the tail light and tail gate jamb of the bed surface.

As you go down the side of the bed attaching the plastic to the tape and reach the end notice how the plastic is pulled taught and taped to insure it will hold firm through the spraying process.

Note: Remember, what you tape is what you get !!! Think ahead and use small pieces of tape that are easily removed.
